For Newcomers to the hobby, for reference purposes, you may find it handy to print this off.

Percentages have been omitted intentionally, as over a few pairs they rarely come true. They would have to be taken over 100 or so pairings to be reasonably accurate.

Whitewings

The Violet Factor

If one or both of the birds in any of the above pairings is carrying the violet factor, then in addition to the above colours, they could also produce the same colours carrying the violet factor.

E.G.W/Wing Violet (Cobalt) x W/Wing Cobalt;

 W/Wing Sky Blue, W/Wing Cobalt, W/Wing Mauve, W/Wing Violet Sky Blue, W/Wing Violet(Cobalt), W/Wing Violet Mauve.

 The Grey factor added to Whitewings works in exactly the same way.

This will produce Light, Medium, and dark Greys.

Yellow-Wing Greens

Y/W Lt. Green x Y/W Lt. Green:

All Y/W Lt. Green.

 Y/W Lt. Green x Y/W Dk. Green: 

Y/W Lt. Green , Y/W Dk. Green.

 Crossing Yellow-Wings with Whitewings.

 

Most Clearwing breeders use Yellow-wing x Whitewing on a regular basis.

 This pairing will produce all Yellow-wings/Blue.

Once you have these Yellow-wings/Blue, and cross them back to Whitewings, You can now produce Whitewings and Yellow-wings in the same nest.

 The Grey Factor works in exactly the same way as the Violet Factor

Adding the grey factor to Yellow-wings can produce Lt. Grey green, medium Grey green and dark Grey green.

 Adding the Grey Factor to Whitewings produces Whitewing Lt.Grey, Whitewing Medium Grey, Whitewing Dark Grey.

 Return to Main Menu
